Introducing... Bossaball

Bossaball is a game that combines volleyball, soccer, capoeira, and gymnastics. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian cluster of martial arts, dance, music, and sports that was popular in the 16th century. Bossaball was started by a Belgian man in Spain who developed the game between 2003 and 2005. When playing bossaball, there is a net (similar to a volleyball net) and on each side of the net there is a trampoline. The addition of the trampoline gives every player the opportunity to spike the ball because of the additional height they can get from jumping on the trampoline. The sport is popular all over the world; Saudi Arabia, Germany, Kuwait, Brazil, Spain, Singapore, Netherlands, Romania, Ecuador, Portugal.

According to Bossaball.com,

·         Bossaball can be played in teams of 3, 4 or 5 players
·         The height of the net in between both fields can be adjusted for different levels such as professionals, men, women or children.
·         The aim of Bossaball is for each team to ground the ball on the opponent's field.
·         Each team is entitled to a maximum of 6 ball touches within its own field, while the trampoline jumper gains height to prepare a (spectacular) smash.
·         Any body part can be used to play the ball. Players can touch the ball once with their hands (volley touch), or double touch it with their feet and/or head (soccer touch).
·         Once a team grounds the ball on the inflatables, it gains 1 point. Scoring on the trampolines is worth 3 points.
·         Hitting the bossawall (the ring around the trampoline) doesn´t count as a score, so the rally continues.
·         The player on the trampoline is the goalkeeper of the three point zone. When this player saves the ball out of this three point zone and passes to his team mates, the trampoline player becomes the main striker within the same rally.
